Insurance & Payment Policies
We accept the follow insurances in Oregon:
Aetna
Moda
Providence
Regence BlueCross BlueShield
United Healthcare
Your specific plan determines your co-pay.
Patient Financial Responsibility
Your insurance policy is a contract between you and your provider. While we bill your insurance as a courtesy, you are ultimately responsible for the full cost of your care.
Benefit Verification: You must verify your benefits and coverage limits with your insurer before your first session to avoid unexpected costs.
Payment & Credit Card on File: All co-pays and fees are due at the time of service. A valid credit card must be kept on file to ensure seamless payment.
Coverage Liability: Pre-authorization does not guarantee payment. Final coverage is determined only after your insurer processes the claim. You are responsible for all fees, including any claims denied by your insurance.
Information Accuracy: You must provide complete, accurate, and updated insurance information to ensure correct claim submission.
Coverage Inquiries & Billing Codes
When calling your insurance provider to confirm your out-of-pocket costs, please provide them with the following billing codes:
Service Billing Codes
Individual Sessions: 90837
Family Sessions: 90847

If you do not have benefits through one of our accepted insurances, our private pay fees are as follows:
Individual session (50-55 min.): $150
Couples or family session (50-55 min.): $180
All fees are due at the time of service.
If you are out-of-network, we can provide monthly statements for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Depending on your plan, this may significantly reduce your out-of-pocket costs.

No. Our office is not fully ADA accessible. It is located on the second floor, and access to our space requires climbing one flight of stairs. Unfortunately, there is no elevator.
If you have mobility limitations or other accessibility needs, we are happy to work with you to find accommodations that best support your care.
Please call us at (971) 328-3919 so we can help determine the best option for your care.

Your therapy hour is a dedicated block of clinical time reserved exclusively for your unique needs and growth. To maintain a sustainable practice and ensure we can help others in the community, we require 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling.
We also understand that life happens and offer one free grace waiver per calendar year to each client or case (family/couples) for a late cancellation or missed session.
Late Cancellations: Any sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will be subject to a $100 late cancellation fee, automatically applied to your card on file.
Missed Appointments: If you do not attend your scheduled session without prior notice, a $100 fee will be automatically charged.
Initial Intake Sessions: Grace waivers are not applicable to missed initial intake sessions, subject to a $100 fee automatically applied to your card on file.

In most cases, yes, you can use your insurance for couples sessions if the following requirements are met:
Diagnosis: At least one partner (the primary policyholder or a covered dependent) meets the criteria for a mental health diagnosis.
Impact: Relationship or family concerns are directly impacting that person's mental health symptoms.
Treatment: We are ethically able to bill insurance when treating those symptoms through a family systems lens.
Out-of-Network Rates
If you are not using insurance, the fee for couples therapy is $190 per hour, due at the time of service.

If you’re looking to deepen your self-understanding, heal past wounds, and improve your life—and the lives of those around you—we’re here to help!
We are generalists—adept in assessing, diagnosing, and treating common mental health concerns at the outpatient level of care.
This level of care is best suited for individuals who live at home and can consistently manage their daily responsibilities and routines.
-
If you are in your first year of recovery from a substance use disorder, experience anger management issues, require medical care for disordered eating, or live with persistent psychiatric conditions, please seek consultation with professionals who specialize in these areas.
Please Note: To ensure the highest level of safety for our clients, we are unable to accept new couples or family cases involving severe conflict, violence, or high-risk substance use at this time.
-
Any additional care coordination, consultation, court appearances, travel, or letter and report writing that goes beyond the typical email, phone call, or online meeting (>10 minutes) is billed in 10-minute increments @ $33 directly to you.
Please Note: Additional services, either requested by you or required to coordinate care on your behalf, are billed automatically to the card on file. These fees are not covered by insurance.

Riverwood Psychotherapy LLC does not provide Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letters as part of our clinical services.
The evaluation required to determine whether an ESA recommendation is clinically appropriate involves a specialized assessment that falls outside the scope of services provided by our clinicians.
If you are seeking an ESA evaluation, we encourage you to contact a provider or organization that specializes in these assessments, such as Pettable or ESA Doctors.
